Wintye Goitom and Marjorie Cesaire met at the University of Pennsylvania while training to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. Introduced through a networking program to increase BIPOC representation in their field, they began as voices on the phone—sharing advice, comparing notes, and preparing each other for the challenges ahead. What started as professional mentorship quickly became a deep friendship, forged through long hours, hard work, and an unshakable respect for each other’s drive.

Both had their own skincare struggles growing up, searching for solutions that worked and feeling the frustration of being overlooked by an industry that often failed to deliver results for all skin tones. For Wintye, becoming a mother gave this mission a new urgency. Watching her daughter wrestle with pigmentation issues and a frustrating skincare routine reminded her of her own journey—and she knew something had to change.
